The May 27 Agreement between Somalia’s national and Federal Member State leaders have boosted the confidence aspirant MPs and Presidential candidates have in a possible parliamentary and presidential elections taking place in Somalia, in the foreseeable future and on the basis of the September 17, 2020. As result of this, SomaliPolls is experiencing surge in the requests from aspirant MPs who are requesting to be added on the seat for which they are contesting.
Seats that otherwise were considered to be ‘assigned’ to the incumbent MP, are now publicly challenged and delegates are pressured to allow ‘outsiders’ to compete for these seats.
Seat HOP#147 is of interest to the opposition (the presidential candidates) and President Farmaajo.

Although experts estimated the required campaign money to secure this seat to be around $350,000, this is considered to be average for a Federal seat in Galmudug State.
With Mukhtar Uti joining the race, the forthcoming election is now likely to attract the attention of the youth and sport community.
